Does a the Tv guardian DVD player have a tuner built inside it?

For example. My DVD player/recorder has a tuner built inside it. My player is on while I watch TV cause the TV is plugged through the DVD player, where I have choice to watch a DVD or watch the TV. W/ the guardian built inside it would that means that as well. So that each way you are covered?
