Q. I have a vhs dvd player only. I want to copy tapes to dvd. Question can i buy just a dvd recorder and hook it up to vhs dvd player i have. Then copy tapes to DVD or do I need to buy a new dvd vhs player recorder to do that.

I am planning on buying a refurbished Sony DVD Recorder/VHS player from my nearby Sony factory store and wanted to know if I can record my VHS tapes onto a DVD?

With some players you can, others you cant...either way, it is only one tracked. so you cant scene select

I suggest the vid cam to a DVD copier would work better
