i don't care about Blu-ray or HD-DVD's, just want a regular DVD player that streams Netflix. would be good if it played VHS too, but doubt they make those anymore. user friendly, price range $150 tops

Is there another wireless LAN adapter that can be used for Sony's DVD player BDP-BX37?

I bought this Sony DVD player @ Costco + the manual says I need to buy a particular adapter (Sony UWA-BR10) to get Netflix streaming. However, Sony is backordered + its not carried at Best Buy. Are there alternatives? Thanks.

The Sony adapter connects to the USB port, and it is the only one that will work with that port (you can't buy another USB adapter by Samsung for example).
But you could buy a wireless adapter that connects to the ethernet port instead of the USB port. Here is a list of some adapters: http://www.google.com/products?q=wireless+gaming+adapter&aq=f .
The search page above is for gaming adapters, because a search for ethernet adapters kept returning the USB style of adapter. But those gaming adapters will work with any ethernet connected device, not just game consoles. You will also need an ethernet cable to connect the Blu-ray player to the wireless gaming adapter.
