Like everything else in Windows 8, disk drives are represented by buttons, or icons. The File Explorer program also shows information stored in other areas, such as MP3 players, digital cameras, or scanners. Opening an icon usually lets you access the deviceâs contents and move files back and forth, just as with any other folders in Windows 8.

From the information above, it appears that when you insert the CD/DVD in optical drive, you do not get the 'Autoplay' option. To enable 'Autoplay' option in Windows 8, you may follow the instructions from the following link:

If the issue persists, go to computer and check if the CD/DVD drive is listed there. If it is, insert the disc and then double click on it to access the contents. If you are not able to see the contents of a particular CD/DVD, try another disc.

If you are able to read contents of other disc, it was an issue with that particular CD/DVD. If the issue persists, you may run a MS Fix it for CD or DVD drives that canât read or write media:

Can I use an HDMI-to-RCA cable to connect my new laptop to my DVD player?

I just bought a new laptop, and it only has HDMI and USB ports on it. I want to be able to watch videos from it on my TV. I know I can't connect the laptop directly to my analog tv using an HDMI-to-RCA cable, but can I connect from the HDMI port of my laptop to the RCA ports on my DVD player and get it to my TV through that?

Additional info: My laptop is an Acer Aspire M5 with windows 8, my DVD player is a Magnavox and it connects to my TV.

hello.....you need an HDMI to RCA converter if you want to watch an HDMI signal on old tv with RCA plugs......bye
