i'm taking a road trip and want to buy a portable dvd for the kids. below is the description. when it says car adaptor does this mean i can plug it into the lighter?

No. The kids do though. They are all either broken or will be broken soon. My "better half" buys them at Walmart. I won't set foot in that place. That's at least part of the reason for the high failure rate. That they are junk purchased at Walmart, not the fact that I won't shop there myself.
