Yesterday I bought a Sony DVP-SR200P dvd player. Since I hooked it up, whenever I have a dvd playing in it, you can constantly hear the laser reading the disc and its very loud. The dvd plays fine and sound is fine. Its just the laser. Sounds like when you first put a dvd in any other dvd player but it continues like the laser can't find the right spot. Its very annoying. Is there a solution to this or do I just return it and get something else?
Thanks for the tip but as long as I have a standard def tv with standard dvds, I will have a standard dvd player so unless you're going to buy me a new tv and all my dvd's in blu-ray format, I think I'll stick with what I have.

Why are you buying a standard def DVD player in this day and age?
Take that back and get a inexpensive BluRay player. Spend $20 more and get one that has Netflix and other streaming services built in. You may find you dont even rent/watch disks anymore because so much is available streaming.

Are blu dvd players worth buying?
Andrew
Obviously they allow a clearer picture but how better is it? Is it worth paying extra for the dvds and the player?
Answer
Yes Blu ray players do much more than play blu ray disks inm higher quality and DVD's also they connect you to the Internet opening up all kinds of new things like Pandora Internet radio netflix instant downloads and many more sites, a lot has to do with what other equipment you have you have to have high speed internet you will need an N wireless router also a HDTV and a quality surround system to make it all worth it...If your TV is old or the screen is small and your computer speakers are better than your surround sound system and you really don't have a high speed router then it may not be worth the added expense....
