I have a portable dvd player we keep in the car to watch movies on. It has a remote control so I guess it has an IR (infrared) receiver. Can I just buy a set of wireless headphones that use the IR system and it will automatically connect? If they do work, will the signal be okay and uninterrupted like with other waves? Thanks!

Answer
No, unless stated by your Portable DVD player, the IR receiver can only RECEIVE IR signals and not send them. Also, as far as I know, there are not IR wireless headphones.

What you may want is wireless headphones that plugs into the 3.5mm jack (headphones slot).

Can you connect a wii to a portable dvd player?

Is there any way to connect a wii to a portable dvd player for a car trip?there will be a car outlet, but not a normal one. Is there anyway to make this work?

Answer
I seriously doubt it, unless your portable dvd player has audio and visual input ports. If it does (by some miracle), you would also need an outlet for the power supply, but I also doubt the car outlet is really designed for such a purpose. The Wii is a console, and doesn't really like to be used whilst in motion. Sorry.
