Answer
Try a program called DeVeDe. It should be in the Ubuntu software repositories, so you can install it from there with Synaptic. There are bunch of others, but I'm most familiar with this one and it also works pretty well.

How much it will cost me to upgrade my old Laptop?

Knight De

I have this Laptop from 2008 and I am very happy with it. I hate the new technology laptops with their small screens and keyboards and I prefer to upgrade my old one than to buy a new one of this type.

I want new hard drive, new memory, new internal speakers, new DVD recorder&player and maybe new processor. My model is Sony Vaio VGN- NR180E

Answer
There are only certain parts you can upgrade.
If you have not maxed out the RAM, do that.
You can get yourself a new Hard Drive and CD/DVD ROM drive.
I doubt you can upgrade the internal speakers, but maybe possible.
I strongly doubt you'll be able to upgrade the processor, but again maybe.

The best upgrade may be a new Operating System.
Consider a version of Linux. All come with some "Live" versions you can put on DVD or USB drive and try.
Many versions are very user friendly, LinuxMint, various flavors of Ubuntu and others.
