What software can I use to burn DVDs with subtitles?

Does anyone know of a software (free or pay) that I can use to burn DVDs with the subtitles. I tried VirtualDub but it was unsuccessful. I dont really need the subtitles to be burned into the movie but if I can have it burned to the disc so that it can be activated by the dvd player remote when played that would be great. Seriously answers only, thanks for your help in advance!

I am trying to find some software that is free that i can take movies that i have recorded and be able to put them on a dvd disc and play them on my dvd player. Any suggestions?
