Ways to play DVD on laptop without Windows Media Player? (Windows 7)?

I'm trying to play a DVD on my laptop. When I try through Media Player, it says it is in a format which it does not support. Is there any other program I can use that doesn't require downloading?

There are specific steps for that in certain sequence......
STEP1:
After the successful installation of Windows 7 operating system on your old or new PC, download the latest version of CinePlayer DVD Player. Or, insert the CinePlayer DVD Player CD into CD-ROM.
STEP 2:
Double click on the setup file to start the installation wizard on a Windows 7 computer.
STEP 3:
Click Next.
STEP 4:
Read the End Users License Agreement, and click Next.
STEP 5:
Then the DirectDVD will installed in C: directory as a default (it can be changed as well).
STEP 6:
Click Next.
STEP 7:
Click Finish to complete setup.
