I have a Tru tech Portable DVD player and the battery is starting to wear out ,Cant play more than a hour.I need to get a replacemrnt. Is there a website that I can go to do buy this replacement battery

I don't know where to find a replacement battery for that portable DVD player. I even tried to find it on google and no luck. If your portable DVD player is under a year old, you might be covered for warranty. If it's older than that and you don't have a warranty extension, then you should just look for a new portable DVD player. Is it possible to simply replace the drive in my home DVD player instead of buying a whole new player?

I'm wanting to make an old Magnavox DVD player capable of playing DL+ discs, but I don't want to go to the expense of buying a whole new (and potentially expensive) player if I don't have to.

I am a Regional Service Manager for Philips/Magnavox and even if you replaced the DVD drive internally, you wouldn't change its compatibility with different disc formats. All DVD players have the POTENTIAL to play ANY format, but it is the firmware inside the player and hardware that determines weather or not it WILL play any format. At this point, with the cost of players having fallen the way it has, just pick up something like a new Magnavox MRV645 DVD RECORDER for under $150, or a good newer player that in addition to playing +disc's will also play -discs, and Divx encoded discs, MP3 and Picture Discs, etc... for under $100.
