How to keep kids entertained on the plane?

My husband and I are taking our two kids on a trip with us next week. We have a 4 1/2 hr flight. My kids are 2 and 5 and I was wondering how should I keep them entertained? I'm going to buy a coloring book for each and some small toys. Any other ideas? Thanks for your time!

My family is going on a family vacation. we are driving with three kids any suggestions?

we are traveling with a 6yr, 3yr, and 10 month old. We have made this trip before last year before the baby was born. But I am a little nervous on traveling 12 hours in the car with a 10 month old. We have a mini van with dvd player to help entertain the older ones, Does anyone have any suggestions for our 10 month old? We have NEVER traveled when any of our children were so small. PLEASE HELP!

I don't know what type of vehicle you have, but if you can possibly sit by the baby and help entertain him/her, that would be great. If the baby gets fussy it's going to be stressful for the other children to have to try to distract him/her. Maybe you could have your hubby get as much sleep earlier in the day before you leave and drive all night so the children, especially the baby, will hopefully sleep a lot of the time. Also, I guess just takes snacks, books, toys and lots of movies.
