How to burn movies for home dvd players?

What software can I use to burn a movie for my home dvd players. I have used Windows maker and it works just fine but it takes hours to burn the complete movie. I was wondering if there is any other software that can complete the task faster.

I made a slide show for my friends on Windows Movie Maker, but it can only show on the computer. How do I get it to play on a DVD player?

You need to be sure that you've saved your project as a movie file then use Windows DVD Maker to create a DVD you can play on DVD players. You'll find Windows DVD Maker at: Start>All Programs>Windows DVD Maker (unless you have Windows XP which can't burn DVDs - unless you've add an external DVD burner and DVD burning software - and which doesn't have Windows DVD Maker.)

Windows DVD Maker let's you add a menu to the beginning of your DVD but it's optional so, if you don't want a menu, you don't have to have one.
