best dvd players for windows 8 image
Nitro Neon
I have a laptop with windows 8 and i know that they took the dvd playback function on windows media player 12 off. I am currently using 2 dvd player softwares called, vlc media player and one called UMPlayer, on vlc, the dvd plays back fine, but on umplayer, it plays back choppy. I like umplayer more so how can I fix this?

Need to capture images from a video. I cant open the video in anything but Toshiba Video Player?
Christina
I insert the dvd and Toshiba Video Player automatically opens. I can't open my video in anything but this program. On my old laptop which used Vista I had VLC Media Player. I now have Windows 8 and I can't download any program that will help me capture images from a video. I have no idea what I am doing wrong! I have tried opening the video in Movie Maker and Media Player but it never opens it. I am so confused, please help! Old laptop crashed so that isn't an option :(

I'm running VLC on my windows 8 computer fine, you could try opening VLC and opening the video from there. Do you know what format the video is saved in? If its something weird maybe most programs can't open it.
Here's a download link for VLC if you don't have it yet reinstalled yet

You could also watch it in the Toshiba player and hit the print screen (often PrtSc) button on the keyboard (on my laptop its right after f12) and then paste that screen shot into paint or word or something else.
