My daughter LOVES Summer Heights from Australia. I notice that the DVDs for sale say that you need a multi region player.

If your player does not, its very easy to make it region free. Its a one-time operation that only takes a few seconds.

Usually you simply need a 4 digit code that is typed in via the remote.

I want to buy a DVD from australia on eBay but I'm not sure if it will work on my player.

An American TV is not PAL compatible. There is nothing you can do. Region codes can be overridden but not the TV hardware.
