Do I need a 3d dvd player with a passive 3d hdtv?

do you need a 3D dvd player to watch dvds in 3d on a passive 3d tv such as LG? i'm assuming not since the TV converts the picture to 3D from 2D

you do NOT get 3d dvd players, any dvd player and tv can play 3d dvd's due to they use the old fashioned red/cyan 3d glasses to show the image in 3d

its 3d blu-ray players and you do need a 3d tv to be able to show the image in 3d

are there any 3D DVD Players?

ya a dvd movie remake from the 60's using the old red and blue 3d glasses. LOL
