Whats the USB Port used for on my Portable DVD player?

Kyle G

Its not a Charger Slot, Theres another little hole that charges it.. But i am wondering ? Its a Sylvania 7" Swivel Style Portable Dvd player SDVD 7026

Answer
This slot is for USB flash drives. Depending on the player, it will allow viewing of your picture files, and/or your music files, and, if you are lucky, you can view movie files, all stored on your PC and copied to a thumb drive. While I don't think there any players out yet than do this (there will be), it could also be used to connect external hard drives containing your picture, music, and/or movie files.
Get a cheap thumb drive and load it to see what this player can do. Not all players with USB ports can read everything. And, many have limits on the storage drive capacity, so, try a 1 GB or less drive first.
Learn from me, check to see what the player can read via the USB port, before you buy.

who makes a dvd player that you canplug into you r computer thru a usb port and comes with software?

mike

what stores carry this dvd player and can you buy it on line cheaper? i have usb cables and ports.does ciiircuit city carry it?

Answer
Officemax and Walmart carry "external" DVD drives,..you can also order just the external "carry" case that you put an existing DVD drive you have into and can plug it into a USB port.

USB port for DVD should require no "driver" disk. XP will load automatically, HOWEVER , you do need burning software such as Nero, Roxio, Sonic, etc.
