Problem while playing movies on DVD Player?

vinay

When I put 2-3 movies(downloaded from the internet) in a pen drive and then play them on a DVD player attached to a TV, the movie plays for about 9 seconds and then there is something written on the left corner of screen -- Single Elapsed and the movie stops. This happened for around half the movies earlier but now it happens for EACH and EVERY movie. They play normal in my laptop. This ain't a problem of the pen drive(I got 2 different ones and also tried playing the movies in a CD) . Nor is it my DVD player( tried the CD on another DVD player on a different TV). It isn't the file format which I have already tried converting.

Any idea what it is? Can it be something like a piracy detection thingy ?

Answer
You should write the detailed Brand & Model of your DVD player, and can get the exact answer. And as I know, no dvd player can play any formats downloaded movies, most usb dvd players only support divx or xvid avi movies, like my dvd player have a usb port too, but it only can be used to play divx avi movies well on pen drive through the usb port, can't play other format movies well, so you need to use a right software to convert your downloaded movies to right format, then save the right format movies to your usb pen drive and play well on your dvd player, you can follow me to use RZ DVD Creator, works well on my comptuer, it can directly convert any movies to Divx or xvid avi files, it can save the converted files on harddrive or usb pen drive, or directly burn the converted files to any DVD disc, such as convert any downloaded movies to divx or xvid avi files, I don't know the exact brand and model of your dvd player, so can't give your a exact answer, you just need to try divx or xvid avi movies, one of them is right. You can yahoo or google search RZ DVD Creator and download it, easy to use, hope it can help you.

Answer
This DVD player has been fixed to region 2. - This means that the DVD player in your laptop is set to region 2 (Europe, Japan, the Middle East, Egypt, South Africa, Greenland )

Were you switching regions in order to watch dvd's? You can only do this a number of times before it locks you into one region.

This may help you...
