Will a DVD player be able to support files like avi, MP4, and VLC on a DVD?
Also, if I put more than one movie onto the DVD, how will I choose what movie to watch when I put it into my DVD player? Do I keep pressing "next scene" until the next movie is shown or is there some kind of DVD menu?
Answer
avi, mp4 and vlc, all are media container format which can be encoded with many different codecs, such as divx, xvid, mpeg4, mjpeg, etc, so no dvd player can play all avi, mp4 or vlc video files, as I know, if your want to burn a movie onto a dvd, so that can be played well on dvd players, you'd better use a right software to convert your movie to video dvd format, because most dvd players only recognize video dvd format well, and you can add a dvd menu to directly choose what movie to watch when burn more than one movie onto a video dvd, like the video dvd bought from store. To do that, so easy, you can follow me to use RZ DVD Creator, it can fit your requirements, it can convert any format movie files to video dvd format, it can put multiple movie files onto a video dvd, and it can add dvd menu to the created video dvd, it can customize the "Play All", "titles/movie selection", "chapters/scenes selection" screens and buttons on dvd menu, can customize dvd menu background video, picture, music, text, etc, easy to use, insert a dvd disc into your computer dvd burner drive, run RZ DVD Creator, select the dvd burner drive as the target folder, drag and drop your avi, mp4 or vlc movie files into the software, then press MENU button to customize the dvd menu and enable the dvd menu, then press the START button, you will get a video dvd with a nice dvd menu, and you can play the burned video dvd well on dvd players, and can directly choose what movie to watch through the dvd menu, you can yahoo or google search and download RZ DVD Creator, hope it could help you.

What is the difference between a dvd player and a blu-ray dvd player?
Sol
I always used a DVD player to watch movies.
I have to buy a new DVD Player because my old one broke. Why should I want to buy a Blu-ray dvd player instead of a regular dvd player.
Answer
For one thing any disc you buy in the future will be a blu-ray disc and will not work in a regular dvd player. What you should buy is a player that states on the box that it will work with all existing disc formats. They will come out with something else that makes all that garbage in a couple of years anyway.
