Does any one know how many DVD players for home use are expected to be sold in the U.S and abroad for 2008 - 2010?
Thank You,
Joe C.
Answer
joe, I can't imagine why you would put a business/marketing type question in home theater electronics. Here, the discussions are centered around home theater system operational and electronics problems. Look through Yahoo Answer -Categories for the appropriate forum, probably Business & Finance, if you want someone to provide an answer.

How long can i play a DVD in the car before the power dies out?
Adam
I have a 2010 Volkswagon Routan (minivan) and it has acouple built in monitors (not portable) and dvd player in it. I get bored at school so i recently bought a shows dvd package. Its a television series so it has several dvd's. How long can i play it before the car battery would die and need to be recharged by spark plugs, etc. I only want to watch it for about an hour at most.
Answer
It depends on the battery. Batteries have what's called an amp-hour rating (AH). Some have 5AH, some have 500AH.
The way amp-hours are calculated are by how long the battery will take to drop to 10 VDC while powering a device that draws 1 amp. That's too long. It takes at least 11.5 VDC to start a vehicle, sometimes more. It depends on a lot of factors such as the age of the vehicle, ignition system condition, condition of the starter, the age of the battery, the amount of corrosion on the connections, etc.
If you really want to play it safe get a small battery, like a lawnmower battery or motorcycle battery and use it to power the accessories in the van. Use a battery isolator to separate it from the starting battery so even if it goes dead, the starting battery will still be fully charged.
