best dvd in dash player image

They sell lots of portable DVD players with straps for hooking to the back of carseats - but can these players really handle car interior temperatures.
In the winter, temperatures could be subzero, would the LCD freeze?
In the summer, with the sun beating on the car, the temperature could be 150 degrees f. Would anything melt?
Are these things really designed to take that?
Answer
They are not much different then anything in your dash, but to be safe i remove mine. I have left them in at both extremes and they work fine but i usually remove them for safekeeping.

Is there any way of getting around in-dash dvd player laws?
All Jeep
i bought an in-dash dvd player (alpine IVA-D105)yesterday but have yet to get it installed. i was just wondering whether the law prohibits the use of the screen if a movie isn't even playing while i'm driving. what if the screen is only showing the title of the track on my ipod or something? would i still be breaking the law? besides, i'm not planning on running a movie on the screen while i'm driving. i just want to be sure before installing it because i have 6 more days before i can change my mind and get a refund. thank for the help =)
Answer
As long as the safety interlock wiring is installed correctly, then you should be in compliance with the law while you're driving. The unit won't allow you to watch movies while the vehicle is in motion, but iPod, radio tuner and CD track displays shouldn't present a problem. They're not really any different from the displays that would be available on a factory radio. If you're pulled over, you can demonstrate to the officer that the parking brake interlock is correctly installed and working.
