f2dshock s

Ok I just upgraded from windows vista to Windows 7 when I had vista I could burn cd's just fine but today I went to burn a cd And I get this message

Windows Media Player could not complete burning because the disc is not compatible with your drive. Try inserting a different kind of recordable media or use a disc that supports a write speed that is compatible with your drive.

I know my dvd/cd rom isnt bad becuase I can still burn dvds but not cd's I even tried brand new cds fresh out of pack same error and 3 different types. But all 3 types I could burn just fine before the switch.

my dvd/cd rom Reads disc just fine and as I said I can burn dvd movies just not cd's anyone got any help for me!!!! Im going crazy trying to make music for my friends and dont post get a ipod

its a brand new blank cd
btw my dvd/cd rom is ATAPI DVD A DH16A1L

Answer
Have you tried using other software to burn besides windows media player? I use CDBurnerXP (it works on windows 7 despite having the xp in the name) and i have never had any problems burning discs although i have had a few problems with media player (not the particular one you are having). Just a suggestion :-)

EDIT:: I am confused...you said that it says no free space..and then you state that it is a brand new dvd/cd (i forgot which one you said) are you trying to burn that program to a disk..or did it say that error message when you tried to install it..if it said that message when you tried to install it then the hard drive that you use as your program directory is full and you will need to free up space to even attempt to install cdburnerxp

Is there any region free player software for me to play on windows 7?

Charlse

When I try to play my DVD, the system always inform me to set a region code, sometimes it still suck to play DVD player software. What about another one

Answer
All the above is good advice - there are other choices too - plus you can get a small free app to do it in windows media player. (Major Geeks may have it)
Try AfterDawn.com, Ask Leo, Gizmo's, or Widows Club for sage advice.

There are also free codec packs which may/may not help you (Klite is biggest, but not the only one)

My windows 7 media player never asks me to set a region code. Sorry, I can't remember how/if I actually tweaked it.

How can I make a bootable windows 7 disc on my macbook running snow leopard?

I have an iso of windows 7 on my laptop (runnning osx snow leopard) and I am getting a new PC tomorrow with no OS so I want to make a bootable disc with the iso on my laptop that I can install onto the blank hard drive of my new PC... How can I do that, will simply burning the iso to a blank dvd disk work? Will that be bootable?

Answer
you can burn a iso of any os to dvd with cdburnerxp just check off associate iso in cdburnerxp settup then burn dvd and just put it into dvd player of new pc but let me tell you if this iso came from a torrent and isnt a legite copy the claims of it works i promise are severely exagerasted in the extreme because as soon as microsoft send the confirm signal you will end up with a unusable os that does nothing if you want a os free i suggest linux mint cinnamon worlds greatest linux for linux begginers just remember you get software from the software manager not the internet

How do I watch Blu-ray movies on Windows 7?

I recently purchased a brand new MSI A6300 notebook. It comes with a blu-ray player and Windows 7. I have tried to use Intervideo WinDVD 8. But unfortunately, it does not play any BD discs. Supposedly Corel does not support this version of the software anymore.

Are there any alternative programs I can download for free to watch Bluray movies on Windows 7?

Answer
If it has a built in Blue Ray CD/DVD drive you do not need any additional software than what is installed on the laptop. Read the user guide/manual for the laptop section on using the optical drive.

every time i insert my sd card it brings up this import program to import all of my photos onto the pc. how do i stop this from coming up in windows 7?
no not autoplay. sorry i did not specify my pc. its an HP, and HP photosmart always pops up whenever i insert my card. how can i stop it?

Answer
Are you talking about the "AutoPlay"? You need to be more specific. What is the name of the program? Did you install any software that came with your camera? Is that the program that is popping up?

--------------------------

I don't have an HP computer, so, I couldn't really tell you exactly what to do. But, here are a few things you can try:

(1) In the Start Menu, type "Autoplay", and click AutoPlay, which will be one of the search results. Near the bottom of the window that opened, click "Reset all defaults", and click "Save". I have a strong feeling that this will work. Here is what the settings look like on my computer: DVD movie - "Play DVD movie using Windows Media Player"; Software and games, Pictures, Video files, Audio files, and Mixed content - "Ask me every time"; the rest are set to "Choose a default". Yours may have "HP Photosmart" as the option. Insert your SD card, and see if that changes anything.

(2) If that doesn't work, open HP Photosmart and play around with the setting.

(3) Do this whether you have already fixed your problem or not! In the Start Menu, type "msconfig", click on it. Once it opens up, go to "Start up" tab. This allows you to disable programs that start up when Windows starts. Programs that start up when you turn on your computer tends to slow down the start up time. Unchecking them, and clicking OK will prevent them from starting up when Windows starts. Obviously, if you go to "All Programs", and click on HP Photosmart (when you want to) after Windows starts, it'll open up. That's what you really want. You can also uncheck things like, Adobe, Microsoft Office 2010, QuickTIme, Java, etc. If you don't know what they are, Google/Bing it, and see if they are safe to disable. Obviously, you need to leave Windows 7 Operating System, your video card driver, etc. alone, because you want those to start up.

(4) I am hoping option 1 will work out for you, but, if it doesn't, then you can just uninstall the damn program, if you don't use it. If the program came with your printer, then, you can aways just get the drivers without these additional software on the HP website. http://www8.hp.com/ca/en/support.html

(5) If none of the above works, and you really need the software, then, call HP and ask them.

If you are uninstalling software that normally comes with HP, because you don't use those, then, it's a good idea to use "CCleaner", and run a registry and disk clean once you are done. This will get rid of old registry entries and clear the temporary files from you system and keep it running fast.
You can download it from here: http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner Here is a nice YouTube video showing you how to use this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8wqegYPb_Ms

Also, if you are looking for a good, free anti-virus program, I recommend "Microsoft Security Essentials": http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/

I have an Audio DVD containing Mp3 music files, How can i rip the music to my computer?

Ally

Windows media player doesn't work it wont allow me to rip from the audio dvd all thats on the DVD is audio tracks no movies, how can i rip this music from the DVD onto my computer? Thanks :-)

Answer
Because the music files are MP3 type you dont need to rip the DVD, you only need to copy the files to your PC/LAPTOP like you normally do. So:

Step 1: Insert the DVD into the CD/DVD driver
Step 1: Open Windows Explorer
Right-click the START button and choose EXPLORE
Step 3: Locate the DVD driver and doble-click it
Step 4: Copy the MP3 files
⢠Select the MP3 files to copy
TIP: To select all the files hold-down the CTRL key and press the A key.
⢠Right-click and choose COPY or hold-down the CTRL key and press the C key.
⢠Locate on your disk the destination folder
⢠Right-click and choose PASTE or hold-down the CTRL key and press the V key

That's all

TIP: If you want to rip any music cd/dvd (extract audio files from a CD/DVD and convert them to MP3) then:
