i burned a dvd last night (a home video to be played on dvd player...) and everything works, but the sound quality sucks... music sounds normal and loud, but voices are quiet and tinny sounding... before burned, it sounds good on the computer, any suggestions? thanks in advance!
Answer
I always burn dvd with Total Video2Dvd,
http://www.effectmatrix.com/total_video_to_DVD_Author/index.htm
. Click "New Project", add video files,
. Click "2. Menu", view dvd menu,
. Click "3. Output", Click "Convert & Burn" output.
1. Support High-Definition video formats such as HD-DV, MKV, Blu-ray TS, TP, M2TS, AVCHD, WMV-HD to DVD.
2. Support most popular formats such as Youtube Flv, RM, RMVB, 3gp, h264, Xvid, MOV, VOB, Mpeg, Mpeg4, WMV, ASF, DV, Nsv, Ogm, AVI to DVD.
3. Convert video files into a compliant DVD and burns to DVD disc, also can create ISO image files.
4. Support lots of subtitle file formats, including .srt . sub .ssa .ass .smi .psb .tex .idx etc. Handles subtitles files (.srt) color and font. Supports tags.

Playstation 2 DVD sound quality?
TooMuch
When I play DVDs on my PS2 I have to turn the volume all the way up on my tv just to hear talking, then down low when there's an explosion or something. Is there some way to correct this so the DVD sound quality is normal?
Answer
I don't think it really has anything to do with the PS2. You will get the same result with any DVD player when the audio is coming from a TV only. Depending on what TV you have, there may be some tweaking you can do, but it won't make too much difference.
You will need to hook up an external receiver with Multi-channel surround sound capability to accomplish what you want. To hear the dialogue better, you simply increase the volume of the center channel. This way the exciting volume peaks won't be so much louder all of the sudden. Good Luck.
