What should I get my 18yr old daughter for Christmas?

She already has a new laptop, a nice cell phone, an awesome bible, a car, and an ipod. Her list contains a portable DVD player and a 10 GB flash drive. I would hate to only get her two things for Christmas but I cannot think of anything else to get her.

Your daughter is indeed VERY lucky to have all those nice things. I would not feel guilty at all for only giving her two gifts: You've done a great job of providing for her, and both of the gifts you're giving are expensive.

Maybe ask her if there's anything else that she would like. Perhaps you can try to think of something that involves you guys spending time together like a shopping trip, or a weekend at a spa, or going for a road-trip together, since it seems she already has all the material stuff in the bag.

Is there a portable tv/monitor that can play video files to replace a portable DVD Player?

The idea is to have a portable screen to play video files off of a memory card or internal hard drive instead of a portable DVD player or iPhone/iPod.

the closest i've seen is to get a netbook for about $300. plug in a flash drive and watch on a 10" screen. both my daughters do it with theirs'
