I recently received electronic copies of all the Friday the 13th's, and a friend of mine and I were going to watch them. Now I understand computers can be hooked up directly to a TV to avoid the whole disc thing, but my computer is not going to move. So, how to I burn the AVI files (Xvid) onto a standard DVD so I can play them on my Sony DVD player?

Answer
Standard DVD players read the .Vob format, the files you have now are in XVid-AVI format..

I would recommend you download ConvertXtoDVD. Ive been using it for a year now, never had a problem!

It will convert your video files to the dvd format readable by all standard dvd players, then burn automatically to DVD!

it is easy to use, fast and it works perfect for me.. give it a try, you'll love it

1. Download ConvertXtoDVD here:
http://convertxtodvd.burner-software.com/

It can convert any video file.. like wmv, mpeg, asf, mp4, avi to dvd

2. Add or drag-n-drop as many video files as the DVD can handle

3. Insert blank DVD

4. Click "Convert"

5. Enjoy watching those video files on your home DVD player! =)

ConvertXtoDVD has a lot of extra nice features too,
for example you can make your own ANIMATED DVD menu or auto-generate it, add subtitles, auto-burn to dvd or save your conversion.

How do you burn videos or movies to a CD-R and play in on a normal DVD player?

Ok i have a lot of cd-r's and I want to be able to burn movies or my video clips onto them. What format should the file be to be able to play the disk in a normal dvd player. BTW i know about the divx and xvid way. But I want to be able to play the disk's in my other dvd player that doesn't support DIVX. What software do I need to convert the videos to the appropriate file extension and program to actually burn the disk?

Thanks
