I have a video that was made on a MacBook Pro that I need on a DVD. The Mac computer did not have the software to burn a DVD. I saved the file to my flash drive. I have a windows 7 computer. Would iTunes work in this case? Help!

Answer
For OS 10.8.4 and Windows 7 / 8 and MP4, just copy to a thumb drive that is formatted FAT-32.
Windows Media Player version 12 can play modern, non-MS video.

All MacBook Pros have the software to burn data to a DVD.

For burning a DVD movie disc (with menus and chapters, and playable in a DVD set-top player), if your MacBook Pro is 2011 or newer, you have two options....
â Buy iLife '11 DVD from Amazon, and install iDVD from it.
â Get the free DVD Styler, link below.

When will 1080p resolution become standard?

When will 1080p resolution become standard for video games and dvds? Next year, 2011, or after?

Answer
As the technology becomes cheaper, 1080p will become the standard.

Even on TVs 1080p used to mean an automatic $300-400 price jump on a similarly sized set. But now, it's getting harder and harder to find 30", 40" or larger sets that DON'T come in 1080p.

Blu-ray, meanwhile, is 1080p and always has been. Currently, it's about the only source for true 1080p video. DVDs, meanwhile, will never go 1080p. Their spec defines DVD based on SD TV technology, which tops out at 480p. However, using an upscaling DVD player, it's possible to play regular DVDs in HD, but they won't be as clear as a blu-ray played on that same display.

As for video games, you can bet that the next generation of hardware and games will use 1080p as a standard. But even now, the smaller games you can download using the PS3 or 360, are mostly in 1080p now. Let me tell you, the HD remix of the classic arcade title, Street Fight 2, looks incredible. They put a lot of work into redoing the graphics for the game, but it just goes to show that a good game is more than just pretty graphics.

As for TV, it's going to take studios quite some time to switch from SD to HD, let alone to 1080p HD. My guess this will take quite a bit longer, and may not ever fully finish - especially if another advancement arrives.
