DVD player Pros:

1. Can stream netflix

2. Can play DVD movies

3. You can download free movies from the internet and convert them to DVD to watch on some players

4. You can listen to CD music

DVD Cons:

1. Can not stream Hulu Plus, Amazon, Youtube, Crackle, Popcornflix and all the other content that Roku can.

2. You have to buy DVD movies

3. You have to buy blank DVD's and convert movies to play on them or CD's for music

Roku Pros:

1. You can stream Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, and a whole lot of other things

2. You can download blu ray HD movies and play them from a usb flash drive or hard drive

3. You do not have to buy blank DVD's

4. You do not have to buy DVD movies

6. You can listen to music

7. You do not have to buy CD's

8. You can show your pictures in slide shows on the TV

Roku Cons:

1. It does not play DVD's

Is there any DVD player in the market that can stream Netflix?

I am not looking for a Blu-Ray player and I am not looking for a streaming only Roku. :)

An Xbox can be a DVD player and can stream Netflix.
Linksys used to have a DVD player/media Extenter combo, but it may be cheaper to buy a DVD player + Roku box.

Portable dvd/cd player?

My portable dvd/cd player wont work..whats wrong is that its plugged in everything is okay and i can kind of hear the cd rotating but the is black on the screen even though it shows green light..no sund coming out of it..then the cd stops and there is nothing..what and how can i fix this?

Your battery should be good for at least 1 DVD, but if not, you might need an empower adapter. It also depends on your seat class, for example, on airbuses, virgin UK has power in First and Business class only, not coach. Go to www.seatguru.com and you can check out your specific seat.

Virgin UK uses Empower plugs on their aircraft, you can get an adapter at most travel stores for around $30.

Virgin US has standard US power plus, so if your device is 110v capable, you just might need a plug adapter. Note that power transformers (110-220) will not work on plane power usually..
