Why do all my DVD movie have to InterActual Player and not the WMM or InterVideo?

Answerz

I'm not sure when it happened, but any DVD I insert to my Compaq V2000; WinXp SP2 laptop it has to play through a program called InterActual. Even when I go to My Computer, the InterActual icon shows up; if I try to play it through InterVideo or WMM. It's all producers...Univerisal, Paramount, Columbia, etc. I've tried to unistall the software all together, but when I insert the movie it MAKES me reinstall it to view the moive. The only reason why I don't like this player is because it doesn't give me the same options InterVideo gave me or the video settings that WMM gives me. What is wrong? Is this permenant? 10 points to the first answer that works they way I want it.

Answer
you probably installed InterActual last. what happened is it overwrites your default player like windows media player.

to set a default player:
start>control panel>add remove programs>set program access and defaults. at the custom click the dropdown arrow at the right side, scroll down untill you see " choose a default media player".

also you can right click you cd rom >properties >select autoplay tab click select action to perform. now select the program you want to autoplay when you insert any cd. weither if its music, movie, data etc.

what's the best/easiest way to rip a DVD on a Win XP PC?

best dvd player winxp on Free Dvd Player Windows Xp
best dvd player winxp image

address.do

codecs, schmodecs. I've visited numerous sites (good and spammy) that all provide detailed, thousand-step "how to" guides on ripping DVD's to my system for local or iPod playback. But there has *got* to be a better way. So, here's my question:

What's the best/easiest way to rip a DVD on a Win XP PC?

Hopefully, I won't have to plow through a zillion crappy codec's, virus-infested malware, or other crippled adware to get this done. All I want to do is to be able to view my DVD's on my iPod or laptop - without the actual DVD in the player (thereby saving batteries on my laptop).

Thanks!

Answer
1) do a search for 'dvd ripper winxp'
2) find a freeware program
3) download it
4) install it
5) use it.

How do I upload video from a Samsung SC-DX103?

Zach C

The software that came with the camera isnt compatible with my computer is there any other software i can use?

Answer
Software is compatible with WinXP up and MacOS. Are you running Linux? or older Windows? If you recorded to DVD, your DVD player should load it and you can copy it from there. If you used mmc card, you'll need a card reader. There are several trial\demo versions of good editing software, and several free video editors available. Just be careful where you download from.
