I have a dvd/vcr combo (the dvd player does not work) and a working dvd player and an older model tv with only one coaxial input.

Usually you loop your antenna or cable through the DVD machine to the TV...(Cable to DVD inout..output of DVD to TV) Then to view DVD try channel 3....

Is there any way to record a dvd onto vhs if I've got my dvd player hooked up to my tv/vcr combo?

I have The Mighty Boosh dvds from England, and they're code 2, so I have a code-free dvd player. It's hooked up to my tv/vcr combo. I can't use those dvds in anything else, and I don't know if it's possible to tape them on vhs from there. Any ideas?

Answer
England uses PAL, right? The US has NTSC. An PAL vhs won't play on many US vcr's.

Even if you ripped the disc you would still have to convert from PAL to NTSC and that just doesn't work well.

http://www.high-techproductions.com/pal,ntsc.htm does tape conversions for money, but vhs tape quality is poor to begin with.

http://www.dvdoverseas.com/dvd.htm will sell you a dvd player that will play anything anywhere. Maybe that would be cheaper in the long run.
