Cheap SACD player for under $100?

Q. I'm looking forward to getting the new SACD of Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here" this month, yet I have no SACD player to play it ( or the Dark Side of the Moon SACD, as well) on.

A Blu-Ray/SACD combo would be even nicer, but I'm not going to push it.

Any ideas?
@David E.: I don't believe that is true.

Answer
You can try searching for an old model/second hand working sony dvd player that is SACD compatible.

portable dvd player??????

jaja

is the magnavox model: MPD 150 worth the $200 you have to pay for it im thinking about purchaseing one
EDIT: i dont want another ipod
EDIT the 2nd : i dont want another mp3 kind of thing

Answer
There are a lot of portable DVD players on the market today, many of them selling under $100. Check WalMart, Sears or Circuit CIty.

Also, stop in at Radio Shack. The good thing about them is that you have 30 days to return the item if you don't like it, as long as you return it in the original box and it is in re-sellable condition.

DVD Player Under $100 That Will Play Videos From A USB External Hard Drive?

Guy S

I've been shopping around for an inexpensive DVD player that will be compatible with my external hard drive. I have a 250 GB USB external HD that I have my movie collection (converted to .avi not .iso) stored on, and I used it when I had an Xbox 360. $100 is my maximum budgeted amount, does anyone have experience with what I'm looking to do that could tell me a DVD player that will definitely work with my hard drive? I'd prefer buying directly from a store rather than ordering online, but at this point, I'll take what I can get. Any help would be gladly appreciated.

I have a Tru tech Portable DVD player and the battery is starting to wear out ,Cant play more than a hour.I need to get a replacemrnt. Is there a website that I can go to do buy this replacement battery

Answer
I don't know where to find a replacement battery for that portable DVD player. I even tried to find it on google and no luck. If your portable DVD player is under a year old, you might be covered for warranty. If it's older than that and you don't have a warranty extension, then you should just look for a new portable DVD player. They are under $100 now. http://www.walmart.com/search/browse-ng.do?ic=24_0&ref=125875.129742&fromPageCatId=62055&catNavId=62055

Is it possible to simply replace the drive in my home DVD player instead of buying a whole new player?

I'm wanting to make an old Magnavox DVD player capable of playing DL+ discs, but I don't want to go to the expense of buying a whole new (and potentially expensive) player if I don't have to.

Answer
I am a Regional Service Manager for Philips/Magnavox and even if you replaced the DVD drive internally, you wouldn't change its compatibility with different disc formats. All DVD players have the POTENTIAL to play ANY format, but it is the firmware inside the player and hardware that determines weather or not it WILL play any format. At this point, with the cost of players having fallen the way it has, just pick up something like a new Magnavox MRV645 DVD RECORDER for under $150, or a good newer player that in addition to playing +disc's will also play -discs, and Divx encoded discs, MP3 and Picture Discs, etc... for under $100.

Hope this helps!
