sony and samsung are gud with sony you have hdmi out put also possible otherwise you can also look for moserbaer dvd player which has in built memory card reader and a USB port as well. these are easily available at Jumbo Electroncs,2nd floor,v3s mall,laxmi nagar,delhi,india..........happy new year

Will a person in India be able to plug-and-use a US-made CD player, or are there problems w/ voltage?

It can not be used in India as in India all electric supply is of 220 Vol. You can do what Uma has told. Or simple thing you have to do it is in any electric shop Voltage converter will be available and you can get it for 110 Vol to 220 Vol and with this converter you can plug in and use. It is very cheap. I have DVD player, music system and other things purchased from US and I use it with the converter.

Also in US in places like New Jersey etc., 220 Vol CD player is also available and you can get it-

i am living in India, i want to buy few national Geography DVDs from Amazon as it is not available in india. but it gives me warning that

All DVD's have a region code on them which will only allow certain DVD's to work in certain DVD players all over the world. India has a DVD region code of 5 so any DVD that is not a region 5 DVD will not play in your DVD player. I f you go to this website (I know, it's wikipedia) it does help!

My Philips DVD player has got region locked. I subscribe to original DVDs from an online store but they seem to be offering them from all over the world. While these are not pirated, they are not of this region either. I'm stuck!!
Where can I buy region-free DVD players from in Delhi? Suggested brands? How and where in Delhi do I get my player converted to region-free?

I bought a Portable DVD Player SD-P1900SN in June 2007 from the U.S. It was working fine. Suddenly it is not playing. It is saying 'No Valid Disc' every time a DVD or CD is inserted. Can I get it repaired in Kolkata? Can I get similar lens available in Kolkata, if needed?

Digital(Freeview) or Analog TV in Kerala(India)?

My parents are going to Kerala(India) for two moths trip and I want to give them a portable DVD player with built in TV tuner(analog) as a present. I want an analog TV tuner as I donât know if digital(freeview) is available in Kerala(India).
My question is does any one know where I can purchase a portable DVD player with built in analog TV tuner?
Or does any one know if freeview(digital) receiver works in Kerala(India)?

That is, the screen should be able to turn 180 and then fold down to become like a tablet, but without the touch. Because you can just as well attach a USB mouse and read books or watch movies or navigate.

Depends, what are your preferences.

WOuld you like to have a plane CD player or a cassette player or combined.

Well, there is one by Sony, in the home theatre range, it is a DVD/VCD/AVD/MP3 disk player with good sound. But it doesn't have any cassette option in it. The sound is good.

YOu can also try AIWA, but the sound quality isn't so good.

I think the best would be, but an amplifier, good speakers and attach a CD player to it. Onkyo has a good amplifier and speaker combined offer for I think 19000/- Rs. Check that.

Why don't you just go and explore the varios showrooms and check the sound quality for yourself.
